The Nasarawa State Government says it has engaged 1,500 youths with employment under the Nasarawa State Youth Empowerment Scheme (NAYES).
This is part of efforts to minimize youth restiveness in the state.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment, Ibrahim Bai, disclosed this during the verification exercise of the second phase of the scheme at the government house.
He said that the youths would be deployed to protect government facilities across the state.
Mr Bai added that the third phase of the project, which is underway, will be the training of 1,500 nurses and teachers to be chosen from the 1,050 wards in the state.
